ApoleRacing car models at the unusual scale of 1/6th
In 1989 Dominique DELESTRE, former driver in Formula 3000, creates the Apomatox racing team which brilliantly runs in the Formula 3000 International Championship. Famous drivers such as Olivier Panis, Emmanuel Collard, Stéphane Sarrazin, Franck Lagorce and many others have raced for Apomatox.
In 1998, Prost Grand Prix decides to bring a logistical and financial support to the F3000 APOMATOX team.
For the 1999 season Prost Grand Prix choose to commit themselves even more in F3000 by acquiring APOMATOX. Is is renamed Prostar "F3000 Prost Junior Team" with Dominique Delestre as team manager.
At the end of 1998 Apomatox creates an activity which becomes Apole. Its objective is to produce racing cars models by using, as much as possible, the same materials that are used in the championship racing cars. Apole has chosen an atypical scale in the world of scale model cars : 1/6th.
The first model produced was the Prost Peugeot AP01 and, because of its success, Apole has made all the subsequent Prost Grand Prix Formula 1 racing cars : Prost Peugeot AP02 – Prost Peugeot AP03 – Prost Acer AP04.
Apole also produced models of Formula 3000 cars which ran in the 1999, 2000 and 2001 championships, for several teams (Arden Team Russian, Red Bull Junior Team…etc), and also some rally cars such as the Peugeot 206 WRC, which has won the 2000 Rallye Championship.
As a result of their experience, Apole have an important savoir-faire and multiple connections, not only in the car industry.
Each model is made by hand in the Magny-Cours workshop, according to precisely defined specifications | |
