Morize-ChavetCompetition quality chess-games and beautiful wood games
For more than one century, the company Morize SA old house D. Van Roy founded in 1871 and taken again by George Morize in 1886, specialized in the traditional parlour games.
At the very beginning it started by manufacturing ivory plays, then as years and generations passed , it followed the market trends of the plays. The company Morize SA, now has a very important range of parlour games.
All the wood plays are manufactured in their craftmanship factory of Dartan in the Jura. The company Chavet Chess, located in the mountains of the Jura, manufactures chess-games in boxwood since 1912, date on which it was rested by Henri Chavet.
The Chavet chess-games are now sold in the whole world, and frequently used in official competitions. Morize Chavetalso produces wood plays, like solitaire, small horses, Chinese checkers, morpions, cup-and-balls...
Over the last ten years, the company Chavet Chess has specialized in the manufacture of the carrom or Indian billiards, a game which greatly developed and is now the object of official competitions.
The merger of the two companies in Morize Chavetallowed the development of a line of high quality goods. | |
