IlarioExclusive 1/43 Scale Models Cars for collectors.
Ilario Chiera was born in 1965 at Annecy, in France, near the Swiss frontier.
After studies of Trade and an employment in a shop of car accessories, his first contact with 1/43 models was in 1984, at the shop "Annecy Miniatures". That was a true discovery for him.
"I bought my first kit, it was a Ferrari 288 GTO 1984 of Record, and with some instructions of the salesman, I quickly assembled the model, then I turned over to the store to show them my work. They aprecied the result and proposed to me to make building for them. After only one week, I was on my account and started a activity of building kits! I worked for the store of Annecy during approximately a year.
Then I met Mr. Hoogstad Cornelis a Netherlander just arrived on Annecy, which wanted to make prototypes of 1/43 miniatures. I did not know absolutely how to manufacture a model at this time, but I decided to produce my own line with the assistance of Cornelis.
It was the birth of Hilario (with a "H"). In 1985 I produced my first model, it was Ferrari 365 GT4 BB Koenig, only sold in kit.
I carried out models during approximately three years before Cornelis asked me to work with him at Hostaro, with Mr. Marteau Philippe (MPA). I accepted and sold him my company to join his team.
It was a marvellous period of training, during 3 years I have learned everything about the production of a model! Then I left the TEAM Hostaro and started again to assemble kits for the shops, or manufacturers such as EMP or Starter.
But my desire was to have my own range of models, so in 1996, I started a new activity, under the appelation Carbone, and I started to produce and assemble cars for my own account.
First of all on the 1/87 scale , Carbone 87, some models only will be produced. Then I decided to make a series of high quality on the 1/43 scale this time, called Ilario (without "H"!), who is my first name, and to make Ferrari the principal subject.
These cars are magic for me. I like to reproduce the car models of the Fifties to 70, particularly the single one and never reproduced in 1/43 scale, in limited series of 350 miniatures only to make it a true collector object.
In 2002, I created a new ready built range, Carbone.
In 2005 I received the approbation of Ferrari SpA for my models, and now my production is made under Ferrari licence.
Today, I devote myself especially to my Ilario range, enriched each year by new models for my pleasure and that of all those which shares my passion for this fabulous mark which is Ferrari." | |
