KosenTop-of-the-range plush animals
For 90 years, toys have been produced at Bad Kösen, the little spa town on the Saale river. These long years of traditional craftsmanship provide the basis of producing soft toys that are special and precious.
They are set apart by their highly naturalistic and expressive design, by their immediate appeal as toys and by the top quality material and craftsmanship employed. Each design is based on intensive studies of the anatomy and movements of the animal depicted. Kosen designers draw the animals in their natural habitat or in zoos and create them as three-dimensional models from clay. The toy animals are always presented in their typical and natural position. Important details are lovingly executed, and the faces in particular receive a very lifelike expression. In order to achive this, Kosen use varied material, and only the best quality fake fur will be employed. The animals are put together from up to seventy individual elements, they are sewn together, turned inside out, filled with high quality fibres, stitched closed, combed and brushed, embroidered and painted - all by hand and exclusively at Bad Kösen.

Kosen wants to give children an understanding of the big and the small in the animal kingdom. Extremely shy small animals such as the common dormouse and fat dormouse are difficult to observe in the wild as they conceal themselves from humans. In soft-toy form, children can come to love them and at the same time develop a desire to help protect our wildlife.
Kosen wants children to have a cuddly toy that will see them through their whole childhood. This means that the cuddly toy must not only look good but must also be a toy that they really enjoy playing with.
Kosen animals have a neutral expression on their faces so that children can "make them feel" whatever they want. In addition, Kosen soft toys are given a natural bearing. They are beautifully soft and movable, optimally designed for children's play. As a result, Kosen has received the "good play characteristics" distinction for many of their toys, serving to confirm the fact that they are designed with the utmost in children's play requirements in mind.
