Ading"Ading is a short and simple name my parent gave me. My life is as simple as my name, but my life shouldn't be as short as it is. I was born on October 17, 1966 in West Java province. Playing traditional music is my hobby; I can play most of the traditional instruments. At one point I said to myself, 'Why can't I make those traditional instruments by my own hand?' Then I went about learning how to make them, and in 1991 I opened my own art shop. In 1999 I married a beautiful Javanese woman. She is very helpful in my work - she is the one who watches my art shop in the afternoon. She is also a good wife to me; she makes my work in the shop possible.
"In making various kinds of traditional musical instruments, I use mahogany wood, jackfruit wood, and bamboo. It needs patience and practice to get the right tone from each musical instrument. |
