Marshals, Generals, officers and soldiers are brought together in a collection rich of almost 300 pewter figurines. The average size of the figurines is 12,5cm.
The forging mill of campaign is part of the Artillery Park. It is harnessed to 2 or 4 horses by the Artillery train of the Guard or of the Line and is been served either by soldiers who are Artillery Workmen, or sometimes by marshal-shoeing.

The figurine

From a technical point of view, the realization of a new subject requires much research in order to gather an important documentation. Once done, the sculptor works out a subject in modelling clay which requires for this scale an infinite delicacy and a rigorous detail.

After many operations one finally obtains the rubber mould which will receive pewter in fusion. Manual sandpapering, sanding, chiselling will give to the figurine thus born, its unequalled patina which gives this so particular charm to creations of Etains du Prince.
