The Vaugondy, father (Gille Robert de Vaugondy 1688 - 1766) and son (Didier Robert de Vaugondy 1723-1786), were the major cartographers in France around 1700 and were Cartographers of Court of Louis XIV and Louis XV. Gille Robert de Vaugondy, published a Large universal Atlas as well as a complete Atlas of the Revolutions of the Earth. Vaugondy son edited several globes of various sizes, the largest with a diameter of 2,6 m.
