A Jade (Jadeite) replica of the original Jaguar (16,2 cm), found in Burial 196 of the archaeological site of Tikal, at the side of 'Governor B'. This animal symbolised the nocturnal sun, travelling through the dark underworld in order to rise again. It is identified by its round ears, the three spots of the glyph for day Hix 'Jaguar' in its eyes, and by the characteristic water lily on its forehead, picked up in subterranean rivers. This is the largest piece of jade excavated to date at Tikal. Stands for Strength and Courage
