The America was an American sailing ship of competition of the 19th century, launched in 1851, which entered history when it gave its name to the first international trophy it gained, 100 Guinea Cup, renamed after this the America Cup. At the time of this race organized in the south of England, the advance of the America on the closest British competitor was so large that when Queen Victoria asked who was second, the race directors answered her that there was none!

The model

This model is produced by hand by Vietnamese craftsmen starting from hard exotic wood. The hull is built in broadsides on couples (boards fixed on the reinforcement). The level of detail is excellent, and finishing is superb. This model of boat is not in kit, but is directly ready to be admired.
