Le Village started in Madagascar in 1992, they are now reknowned professionals, ship scale display model makers from 19 years, and Le Village today supplies many Embassies, the Oceanographical Museum of Monaco and wood ship models collectors and numerous demanding amateurs.

The Recouvrance is a full-scale reproduction of a avisoThe sloop was in the beginning a warship, of limited tonnage (brig, cutter, schooner) and fast, which was used as connection for the command or to ensure the communications between the various buildings and the terre (Source: wikipedia)., military boat of the beginning of last century, intended at the origin to transmit urgent folds or opinions for France. These functions were then extended to the monitoring and protection of the French trade ships on the coasts of Africa and in the Carribean. Five ships were built according to the standard "IRIS" plan, drawn by engineer Hubert, they all took part in these missions, with 50 to 60 men on board each.
The Recouvrance was built on the basis of these plans between 1991 and 1992, and has since then sailed and participated to all gatherings of historical sailing ships.
The model
This model of boat is of museum quality. It is manufactured by hand by Malagasy craftsmen under the direction of Herve Scrive. For an optimal fidelity to the model, the construction of the ship model uses the process of assembly of broadsides on couples (the boards forming the hull are fixed on the couples forming the internal frame of the ship). The bridge of the boat is lathed as on a full scale boat. The hull and the bridge are varnished in several layers. The vessel is made out of exotic wood chosen for their qualities in model making and for their colors.
Each ship model is numbered and accompanied by a historical summary engraved on wood.
This model of boat, assembled by hand during tens or of hundreds of hours of craftmen specialized in hulls manufacturing, rigging, installation of veils etc, is not a kit, but is fully assembled and ready to be admired.
