Sandbaggers were super large cats. Extended bowsprits and booms allowed large sails, which meant speed. Sandbaggers were remarkably fast. They were nick-named for the ballast sand needed to prevent capsizing. Extreme sports started here...strikingly large cotton sails. Warm honey finished individual planked hull, moldings, deck details.
