Combination of two Maori symbols is this piece of Nehrite Jade. The Fish Hook stands for strength and perseverance and brings peace, prosperity and good health. Also used as a guardian angel during journeys over water. Traditionally the symbol was worn as a pendant by the great Maori fishermen at sea.
The Whale Tail protects travelers and stands for wisdom and a long life.

The Simbolica Maori collection pieces were made by artisans in New Zealand and are based on the old symbolism from Maori Culture. Most statues and pendants were carved from Nephrite Jade although you will also find some pendants made of bone.
