The Manaia is the carrier of supernatural powers. According to Maori believes, the time to die is predestined. However, this guardian angel prevents the owner from accidents. Traditionally the Manaia depicted with the head of a bird, the body of a man and the tail of a fish- representing sky, earth and sea and the balance between. Nephrite Jade.

The Simbolica Maori collection pieces were made by artisans in New Zealand and are based on the old symbolism from Maori Culture. Most statues and pendants were carved from Nephrite Jade although you will also find some pendants made of bone.
