Okyere Hammond echoes Senufo tradition in these fetish statuettes. The pair consists of a man and a woman, and these pieces are traditionally worshipped when asking the gods for spiritual help. The Senufo believe "two heads are better than one," and that couples have more of a chance to be heard by the gods. Hammond carves the statuettes from noble sese wood; they feature long lean necks and protruding heads and bellies. Hammond embellishes each piece with embossed brass plates to ensure a faithful replica of Senufo art.
